Updated Information Regarding the Fire at Provexa Gothenburg
We would like to provide an update regarding the fire that occurred in parts of our production facility in Gothenburg on the evening of Thursday, 27 August.
Most importantly, all employees were safely evacuated, and no one was injured.
Following the emergency services’ response, Provexa personnel are now working around the clock together with specialist cleaning companies, technical experts and other suppliers to restart production as quickly and safely as possible. At the same time, we are continuing our investigation into the cause of the fire.
The Manual Department and the Zinc Line have sustained such extensive fire damage that they cannot be restarted in their current condition. At present, there is no timetable for when production in these areas can resume. We will maintain direct communication with affected customers and, where possible, assist with alternative solutions and contacts with other companies within the industry.
Large parts of the remaining production facilities have escaped relatively well, but have been exposed to smoke and airborne particles. Extensive cleaning and technical inspections will therefore be required before production can resume.
Our current production restart plan is as follows:
Zinc Flake
Geomet Bulk: production restart in week 38
Zinc Flake
Geomet Rack: production restart in week 38
P&P
ED/Powder Coating: production restart in week 40
Galvano
Kombiine: production restart in week 1, 2027
Provexa Technology
Production restart in week 37
This timetable is based on the information currently available to us and may be subject to change. Our customer account managers will contact affected customers on an ongoing basis to discuss existing orders, priorities and possible delivery dates.
Goods currently located at the factory can be collected no earlier than Wednesday, 2 September at 07:00. Please note: All collections must be booked and confirmed in advance with your usual contact person at Provexa.
We understand that this situation is causing disruption and uncertainty for you as a customer. We will do everything we can to minimize the impact and to be as transparent as possible with the information available to us.
We would like to thank you for your cooperation, understanding and the tremendous support we have received over the past few days.
